February 27th, 2016. Undefeated Terence “Bud” Crawford takes on Henry Lundy in the 2nd defense of his WBO World Super Lightweight Championship. A title which he won back in April 2015, over Thomas Dulorme. As for Lundy, it was his very 1st world title opportunity.

Prefight records; Crawford 27(19)-0, Lundy 26(13)-5-1.

Going into the fight, the challenger Lundy had a notable win over former WBC Lightweight Titleholder, “Dangerous” David Diaz. On the other hand, Crawford who won world titles at Lightweight & Super Lightweight had beaten meaningful oppositions in Breidis Prescott, Thomas Dulorme, Raymundo Beltran, Ricky Burns and Yuriorkis Gamboa.

In the early goings, Lundy was able to tag Crawford and won the 1st round.

However, Crawford made adjustments in the 2nd stanza and the determined Lundy was unable to keep up with his furious pace and volume as well as the sharp punching of the undefeated World Champion.

From the 3rd stanza on, Bud took control and decked Lundy in the 5th. A follow up barrage by Crawford after that ended the bout at the 2:09 mark.

After this fight, Crawford picked up more notable wins over Viktor Postol, John Molina Jr, Felix Diaz & Julius Indongo before moving up to 147 pounds.

In his Welterweight debut, he challenged the reigning WBO World Welterweight Champion Jeff Horn in June 2018. In another remarkably dominant performance, Crawford destroyed Horn after beating him from pillar to post for 9 grueling rounds.

With this win, Crawford became World Champion in 3 weight classes; Lightweight, Super Lightweight & Welterweight.

For the 1st defense of his newly won WBO Welterweight Crown, he will be taking on the similarly undefeated “Merciless” Jose Benavidez on October 13th.
