Highlights of the fight between Lennox Lewis and Shannon Briggs.

March 28th, 1998. Billed as “March Badness” Lennox “The Lion” Lewis takes on Shannon “The Canon” Briggs, as Lewis defends his WBC Heavyweight title for the third time. Lewis had defended the WBC strap against Andre Golota via a spectacular first round knockout and a disqualification win over Henry Akinwande, in a bizarre fight where Akinwande refused to stop holding despite multiple warnings by referee Mills Lane, prompting Lane to stop the fight.

In November 1997, Briggs won the Lineal Heavyweight title from George Foreman via a controversial majority decision. Foreman had knocked out Michael Moorer in the 10th round while trailing in the scorecards in 1994 in a historic victory. However, only Lewis’ WBC title were on the line in this fight.

Lewis entered the bout as a 12-1 betting favorite against Briggs. This is a highly exciting heavyweight title bout with great back and forth action. Enjoy it!
